God of War 4, released in 2018, is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Gameplay
God of War 4 alters the style of the series in numerous respects. Rather than the rapid-fire hack-and-slash battles of previous games, this installment employs a third-person over-the-shoulder cam that makes combat feel more intimate and intense.
Kratos now uses the Leviathan Axe, a magical weapon that can be thrown and pulled back to his hand like a boomerang. The axe can also be augmented with runes and abilities. Players also get to use Kratos’ legendary Blades of Chaos later in the game, connecting the new narrative to his violent history in Greece.
Atreus is a valuable asset in battle. Equipped with a bow, he assists by firing arrows, distracting foes, and puzzles. The cooperative play between father and son brings an interesting element to gameplay.
In addition to this, the game provides exploration and puzzles. Players can move around the various worlds, battle difficult bosses, find treasures, and gain new powers. Side quests, which are referred to as Favors, add to the story and provide more information about the world.

The sound effects are no less spectacular. The music, written by Bear McCreary, employs heavy drums and melodies from Norse mythology to build a fantastic atmosphere. Voice acting is also excellent, particularly Kratos, whose commanding deep voice suits his character perfectly.
